Simple Date Night

Wanna know the way to a man’s heart? Food and Beer! In an attempt to be a sweet, loving, and domestic girlfriend I planned a relaxing evening for my boyfriend the other night after he finished his exam. Here is an easy idea for a date night that my fellow female friends can follow:

  1. Buy his favorite beer, or something new to try! I got a six pack of Samuel Adam’s Blackberry Witbeer.
  2. Cook him dinner! I made oven roasted ravioli, grilled chicken, and a caesar salad. You can find the recipe for the oven roasted ravioli below!
  3. Buy a container of his favorite ice-cream for desert, or any sweet! Philip is a big fan of oreo ice-cream 🙂
  4. Let him watch his favorite movie. Now, I know how dreadful this may sound to most females…luckily Philip and I have a similar taste in movies. I Love You Man was his movie of choice.
See how simple it can be?! Not only does he receive a relaxing evening, but selecting his favorite items shows that you care (and that you pay attention) 😉
Oven Roasted Ravioli Recipe

12 round frozen ravioli, thawed
1 egg
1 Tbsp of milk
6Tbsp Italian bread crumbs
2Tbsp grated parmesan cheese
cooking spray
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Whisk together egg and milk in a shallow bowl. In another bowl (or pie plate), combine bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. Dip thawed ravioli in egg and then in bread crumbs. Place on baking sheet and repeat until all ravioli are coated. Spray ravioli with cooking spray. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with warm marinara or pesto.
Enjoy! Simple and delicious!
With love, APJ

  1. So the above is good advice for some of us with a few years on our relationship…actually if I'm honest my husband did this for me tonight after a long (and tough) day.

    I'll enjoy reading more…

  2. Alyssa, so happy to find your blog! I love these ideas – a big high five to his choice of Oreo icecream! I use vanilla ice-cream, cool whip and a pack of oreos to make it from “scratch”. Way more unhealthy, way more delicious 🙂 I can't wait to see more posts!
