Happy Friday, lovelies! I hope your 2016 is off to a fantastic start! It has been a couple of months since I posted my first “coffee date”, so I thought I would take some time today and share some recent happenings and whatnot! You may have noticed some new and exciting changes to Lessons with A…like the fact that I now have my own domain name! Ekk! As many of you know website coding is a passion of mine so over the past couple of weeks I have been making the switch from Blogger to WordPress and I am extremely happy with the way my site design has turned out so far. I would love/appreciate your feedback!
Back in the beginning of 2015 I started a 101 things in 1001 days and I am pleased to share that I have completed 31 items thus far! Only 69 items left and 647 days to go…wish me luck!
This year I decided that I wanted to choose one word that would define the upcoming twelve months. In reflection, the past couple of years my word would have been change. Graduating college, moving to Charlotte, and becoming a teacher were all huge adjustments for me in 2014. Then at the beginning of 2015 I realized that another big transformation was inevitable, and it was a change that was extremely difficult for me to cope with. I knew I was unhappy in Charlotte, but at the time I couldn’t convince myself to move back to Raleigh. I felt as if I had failed myself and I was ashamed that I didn’t achieve what I had initially hoped to when I moved away from home. But then I realized that I had done something that most people don’t have the courage to do. I moved to an unfamiliar city, alone, and I am a much stronger person from doing so. In June I moved back to Raleigh and I can honestly say I have been the happiest I’ve been in years! So for 2016 I’ve decided on the word Development. I want to grow professionally, foster wholesome relationships, and become the best (and healthiest!) version of myself in the new year!
Below are some of my favorite Instagram pictures as of recent…isn’t H super dashing in his tux!? I’ve also tagged some items that I have been loving lately 🙂
You are a true friend if you made it through this entire post! 🙂
Stay warm this weekend! xoxo
