Not to brag on myself or anything, but I am quite the DIY bride. I have enjoyed crafting and coming up with ideas for our special day that are unique, but still highlight who we are individually and as a couple. I wanted our Save the Date cards to be different from the traditional format and customized to include our venue (because it’s gorgeous) and our dogs since they were not in our engagement photos. I felt stuck because although I knew what I wanted I did not know how to execute my vision…
…and then I met Jessica from JesMarried. She owns the cutest Etsy shop and creates custom illustrations for weddings and all the sweet moments to follow. She saved the day if you know what I mean! 🙂 Our Save the Date cards are everything that I envisioned and much, much more! I mean, how precious are Caddie and Gunner in front of the gorgeous barn?!
I purchased cardstock (in color Diamond) from Michaels and cut the paper to make 5 x 7 cards. Then, with the help of my sweet future mother-in-law, printed the design onto the paper from a personal printer and used a tool to round the edges. Easy peasy! I also used Microsoft Word to print our guests’ addresses straight onto envelopes, which I also picked up while I was at Michaels. With the Save the Date I included a “Details” card, about the size of a business card, with the URL address to our wedding website. I wish I had taken a picture of the finished envelopes and details card…all of the fonts that I used corresponded to the Save the Date and I found the cutest stamps from our local Post Office!
I am so so SO happy with the way everything turned out!! If you are a bride-to-be or have a friend planning a wedding, I highly recommend that you check out Jessica’s Etsy shop!! I think I may need an illustrated dessert and signature cocktail menu for our reception… 🙂
