Coffee Date Inspiration

coffee date #6

With the blink of an eye another year has come and gone! 2019 has some big shoes to fill as 2018 made me a Mrs!! This past year was filled to the brink with crafting, wedding planning, house buying, friends, puppies, and of course teaching. I was once again the least consistent blogger ever, but honestly I was just too dang busy! Maybe next year…

My one word for 2019 is “passionate”. I want to be a passionate teacher, wife, and friend. I want to fill my heart will things that I am passionate about such as crafting, blogging, sailing, and dancing during the upcoming year.

Below I have rounded up some of my favorite memories and most popular posts of 2018, including my journey with fitness and weight loss through out the year…enjoy!

January- Hunter and I asked our closet friends and family if they would be a part of our wedding party! You can find all the details here. A few of my best girlfriends and I visited Bella Bridesmaid to pick out their dress for the special day!

February- I wrote a whole post about our custom Save the Date back in February and I am still obsessed. This was the first project I worked with Jes Married on, and since then I have worked with her countless times on wedding details and personal gifts for family and friends! Hunter and I also took our engagement photos in February and they turned out amazing!! I may or may not have a gallery wall of just engagement photos in our kitchen…

March- Lilly Pulitzer? Brunch? Yes please! It was so much fun to a part of a styled bridal brunch for my wedding planner in Pinehurst!

April- We Bought a House! Because wedding planning wasn’t exciting enough we decided at the end of March/beginning of April we were ready to buy a house. Although the process of buying a home can be quite time consuming, it was the best decision for us and our two pups! I am still in the process of finishing the decorations in a few rooms, but I hope to post some more photos soon!

May, June, & July- The summer months as always were a blur with the end of school (testing, testing, testing) and traveling for family vacations. These months are always the least documented or so it seems even though we are always doing something fun…just how it goes I guess! My favorite highlight of the summer was sailing on Hunter’s parent’s boat, Strong Medicine.

August- Our friends and family celebrated Hunter and I at the sweetest engagement party! Of course, DIY koozies were a must! In August I also had the opportunity to work with my absolute favorite company, Lilly Pulitzer, in a back-to-school promotion! Talk about a dream come true!!

September- In case you missed it, back in September I had to go dress shopping…AGAIN. The original dress I had purchased in December of 2017 (*not pictured above) had black grease stains and rips?!? It’s still a complete mystery as to how it happened!! It turned out to be a blessing in disguise if I am being honest because I didn’t “love” my wedding dress. At the time I was self-conscious and embarrassed to try on dresses. I wanted to get in, get out and rushed through my decision. But, thanks to Burn Boot Camp North Raleigh, the second time around I was confident and ready! I have lost over 10 pounds and two whole dress sizes. Burn has provided me the perfect variety in my workout routine (cardio/strength training), as well as one-on-one nutrition coaching and goal setting. I am, however, still working on my relationship with food. I hardly eat during the day and binge eat for dinner because I eat when I am stressed, which is not healthy. My goal for 2019 is to develop a healthier relationship with food and make better choices!

I also traveled to Fort Lauderdale for my bachelorette with my best gals and we had the cutest flamingo themed weekend! #aintnohowellbackgirl

October- Weddings, weddings, weddings. Seriously! It was so much fun to dress up and celebrate some of our favorite couples with close friends.

November- There is nothing like a sailboat at sunset with a wreath to get you in the holiday spirit. No? Maybe it’s just me! I enjoyed all of the quality time I was able to spend with family in November before the wedding craziness began in December.

December- You may have noticed that my hair grew…overnight. Ha! I’ve always wanted extensions and I figured the wedding was as good of a reason as any to bite the bullet! After a consultation appointment with my hair stylist I decided to go with beaded hand-tied wefts. It took me a little over a week to become comfortable with the weight and tightness of the weft, however, I can now say it feels completely natural. They have been fun to style and braid but I am still on the fence as to how long I will leave them in. I will say though, thanks to the extensions my wedding “Elsa” dreams come true (Wedding Planning Update)! Hunter and I got married on December 29, 2018 and it was the best day of my life! My photographer, Kate Supa, shared the images above as a “sneak peak” of our special day and I am dying to see the whole gallery! You know I’ll share them as soon as I do 😉

That’s a wrap 2018…let’s see what 2019 has in store!
